About the Artist

Francisco Josué Alvarado Araujo is based in Fort Worth, Texas. He received his MFA in Sculpture from Texas Christian University in 2020 and, in the following years, has worked as an artist and educator across the DFW metroplex. Exhibiting in numerous group exhibitions at various galleries, institutions, and pop-ups, Alvarado was most recently invited to participate in TAILGATE, an exhibition of arts educators at the Modern Museum of Art in Fort Worth, Texas, and Psychic Jerk at Lamonte’s Belly in Dallas, Texas.

Having been lightly mended and reconfigured into precarious situations, Araujo’s work consists of found objects that anticipate collapse, degradation, or change. The surfaces that touch rely on phenomena like tension, weight, and balance, which help maintain a momentary stability.
